The National Communications officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Sammy Gyamfi has admitted that he lied about the Second Lady, Samira Bawumia.

Sammy Gyamfi in an interview on Neat FM alleged that Samira Bawumia uses a new Landcruiser to carry makeup kits and makeup artiste. 

“…there is another person; Samira Bawumia, do you know her convoy includes a brand new Landcruiser carrying makeup; makeup artiste; it follows her everywhere. Who is paying for that, The Taxpayer,” he said.

The second Lady describing the allegation as false demanded a retraction and apology.

Sammy Gyamfi speaking on the same platform said: "I was wrong. The Second Lady’s convoy does not have a brand new Landcruiser that carries her makeup kit and artiste. It's only fair that I make this correction. I was wrong and I apologise profusely to her"
