Bernard Allotey Jacobs has applauded the newly elected Secretary-General of the Commonwealth.
Ghana’s Foreign Minister, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey has been appointed Secretary-General of the Commonwealth made up of 56 countries.
The Minister, upon her arrival in Ghana together with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who is said to have played a pivotal role in her appointment, were given a warm reception by enthusiastic Ghanaians and government officials.
Speaking during Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, Allotey described the Minister’s appointment as a great honor to Ghana.
He also noted that Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey per her new position has become a tourist attraction globally.
“Right now, all eyes on Ghana. She will become a tourist attraction,” he said.
He advised the Minister to enforce a cordial relationship with Africans in the diaspora.
