This Is Shocking . . . . - Akufo Addo Reacts To Mahama’s Free SHS Claim

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed surprise at former President John Mahama's claim that he initiated the policy.

Today, the leader of the NDC claims he is the one who introduced Free SHS...this is shocking because he was the one who said if he had two billion he would invest in another project, not free SHS"

“This leader (Mahama) criticized us when we said we were going to implement the Free SHS policy. Now that Ghanaians have accepted the policy, he is saying he is the one who introduced Free SHS. Have you ever heard such a thing?”

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony in honor of the party’s running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, on Tuesday, July 9, Akufo-Addo asked Mahama to "rather commend me for the initiative to implement the policy."

Mahama's Media Engagement

At a media engagement on Sunday, July 7, Ex-Prez Mahama refuted allegations that he was not in favour of the Free SHS policy, questioning how he would be against something initiated by his government in 2015.

I support any bill that will improve our education—to make it sustainable, to afford quality education for our children. So yes, any bill that would achieve this is something that I will support,” John Dramani Mahama said.
