JB Dan­quah-Adu Murder: Judge Threatens to Close Sexy Dondon's Case if He Fails to Show Up to Open His Defense

The Criminal Division of the High court in Accra presided over by Justice Lydia Osei Marfo has threatened to close the case of 'Sexy Dondon' if he fails to appear before the Court tomorrow to open his defense.

This follows the absence of the accused, Daniel Asiedu also known Sexy Dondon in court today.

Daniel Asiedu was expected to open his defense today but his lawyer Sophia Amstrong holding brief for Yaw Dankwah informed the court that he was unwell hence his absence.

The lawyer also informed the court that, they intend to subpoena their witnesses to testify before Daniel Asiedu mounts his defense.

However, Justice Lydia Osei Marfo noted that, the accused was supposed to have filed his witness statement before today hence the accused must show up to mount his defence.

The presiding judge after listening to the defense lawyers ordered them to provide evidence of Daniel Asiedu's illness signed by an accredited medical officer.

She further ordered that, the acccused, Daniel Asiedu should appear before the Court to open his defense tomorrow, Tuesday  warning that his failure to do so will necessitate further orders to close the case followed by a summing up.

The case has been adjourned to tomorrow for continuation.

Daniel Asiedu also known as Sexy Dondon has been charged for robbery and murder of the late Abuakwa North MP Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu in February 2016.
