Absa Bank Ghana Limited and its partner the MasterCard Foundation have commenced a working visit to their sponsored Agribusiness and FINTECH customers to monitor the progress and assess the impact of the support rendered to them.
The team visited three(3) businesses in the Eastern Region and Greater Accra including; Praise Export Services Limited, Eden Tree Limited and Cornelius Company which are into Food Export, Processing and Vegetable production on 30 July 2024.
They were largely impressed with the level of expansion and the good use of the support.
Outstandingly, the Abas Bank Ghana Limited's Four-year project so far has supported over Five thousand -Seven Hundred ( 5,700) businesses and smallholder farmers with over One- point- one Billion Ghana cedis(1.1billion) soft loans loan investment in Agribusiness and Fintech to empower, support and sustain businesses at the interest of ten percent (10%) per annum.
Speaking in an interview with the media during the monitoring, the Director for Small Medium Enterprises(SME) Agency Banking and Partnership at the Absa Bank Ghana Limited, Madam Audrey Abakah indicated that the initiative came to mind during the COVID-19 era to support struggling businesses to survive.
It was also to empower women and youths in Agribusiness, build capacities, create jobs to reduce unemployment in the country.
Madam Audrey also expressed great satisfaction with the customers' judicious use of the funds and encouraged them to expand.
The excited business owners also shared gratitude to the Absa Bank and MasterCard Foundation for their timely vital role in the industry.
